FAQ:

1) Does Canadian Experience Class have a Point-System Assessment too?

No, CIC assesses applicants on their Education background, Canadian work experience, language and other criterias, to decide whether to accept or reject their applications.

2) Can I still apply for CEC, after I have already applied for the Federal Skilled program?

No, you'd need to retrieve your application for Federal Skilled workers before applying under CEC. If your Federal Skilled application has not been assessed yet, you may apply for a refund on application processing fees.

3) I am an International Student, after I have submitted my CEC application, can I quit my job or leave Canada?

For International students, as long as you've accumulated 1,950 hours of work experience prior to submitting your application, you are free to quit your job or leave Canada temporarily. If the applicant is outside of Canada, the application needs to be submitted to overseas Canadian Embassy or Office.

4) I have been operating a store in Canada for over 2 years, may I apply under the CEC Program?

No, all CEC applicants' occupations must be defined NOC: 0, A or B; experience from working in a restaurant or supermarket will not be accepted, and self-employment does not fulfill the Canadian experience for CEC Program.
